Default Mounting and Use my usb external HD
Hi all,

i see my 500 Go external usb hd format in ntfs windows xp , but i can' T access or use it !!!
Why ?

Start -> run -> exploerer.exe -> press enter -> try and find the drive letter that corrisponds to your device; usually it's under the removable media section; you may have to re-enable automountingk, depending on system settings.


(Sorry if I sound rude: it's not intentional)
Beyond that, try reading the 2nd line of my sig block 1ce or 2ce, and try being more specific please ;-)

Hello,

In Pcbsd ?

I have pcbsd on my laptop , and i want access to my usb external drive of 500Go , format in one partition of (windows xp) ntfs.

I see him , on kde , but i can 't access him ... no mount automatically !!!

Auto mounting things in PC-BSD has aolways been touch & go

Try the mount command manually from a shell.

go to konsole, and do a

ntfs3-g /dev/YourDevice /your/mount/point

where YourDevice is the USBs device file and your mount point is where you want it mounted -> if it doesn't work when done correctly, the problem is with how the system tries mounting from the GUI.
