intel video driver

Hello everybody! Usually, I use Win XP, but now for my work it has come necessary to use *nix-based system, and I have chosen PCBSD. I had installed Sun VirtualBox, and then faced with problem of incompatibility of my graphic card with main system drivers, and so resolution was terrible.
I found drivers, which had been installed in XP. Here is page with them: http://lwn.net/Articles/297314/
Help me please with question: How to unpack and install this driver package in PCBSD?

The links inside the article to get to the the release of xf86-video-intel 2.4.97.0 are broken. The one link that is working implies that the 2.4.97.0 release is likely to have bugs.


The Ports Collection for xf86-video-intel is currently at version 2.4.2 and perhaps that is adequate for your needs. What version of PCBSD are you using (PCBSD 1.5.2 or PCBSD 7.0) What is the model of your Intel video card? Perhaps the correct video driver is loading but xorg.conf needs configured.
