What do you use to watch tv? (tv-capture card)

I have an old wintv card. bsdbt848....

xawtv used to work, but only at 512x384.. but i've since setup my video card (radeon) and monitor and some other things and when I start it, it imediatly freezes the computer.

fxtv, never worked opens then crashes and closes.

mythtv, having problems getting the mysql db setup *shrugs*

mplayer -tv, onlything not working with this is I'm getting a 'blue' screen and no video.. but i do have audio.

kdetv, tvtime: haven't gotten these to compile. never compiled on bsd so *shrugs*

What do you use? Or is there just not the HTPC support for fbsd yet?

Could you please post a dmesg from your system? And also what option are you passing to mplayer

still working on MythTV..

the other programs I gave up, as I got MPlayer to work lovely with my card.

mplayer -tv driver=bsdbt848:input=1:norm=ntsc:chanlist=us-cable:channel=3 tv://

all self explanitory, if not 'man mplayer'.

i'm quite happy with this as the program starts up and shuts down very quickly.

and posting my dmesg wouldn't be of any use, nothing's in there that's out of the ordinary.

Sorry to burst your bubble but the last time i checked the MythTV 0.16 port only supports the PVR250 cards and not the bt8x8s. And the MythTV off the website only supports V4L, which FreeBSD dosnt have :evil:
