Default Automount for SD card - pcbsd7
Hi All,
I have an integrated SD card on my desktop computer.
When I plug a SD card, it's not mounted. I had the same problem with previous versions of pcbsd, and was used to boot with the SD card plugged. By doing so, I was able to plug/unplug it easily.
That's normal that I've still got this issue with pcbsd 7 ???

I've still got the same problem with the 7.0.1 version of PCBSD.

(But some other bugs have disappeared, like the shutdown which was not working for example...)

Having used PC-BSD from V1.0RC1 through 1.5.1.x, I've always found the automounting to be a bit "touch and go", both between releases and machines.

FreeBSD by default should be shotdown by the command
Code:
shotdown -h now
where h stands for halt. What was not working? Hanging and the message "press anything to reboot" is normal FreeBSD behavior.
Speaking of your problem with SD card, could you post your dmesg. In particularly look for the lines with sd* (SCSI drive). If you see any of those
FreeBSD has no problems with with your SD card. You have problem with SD card since you do not know how to use Unix mount command

For the shutdown, the computer was on a black screen, nothing written, nothing noticed, except that... it was still power on. Now it works.

For the SD card, my problem is not about manual mounting, but my problem is with automount (like the problem i have with the large fat32 partition -see my other post in this topic-, the same problem, but not the same reasons). I plug the card, nothing happens. I could use 'mount', by as i said in my other post, BUT in 2008, and in a userfriendly distro, i want to avoid it when it's not necessary. Typically in this case... Anyway, i'll give you the dmesg. Tomorrow if i've got the time (right now i'm with my mac), else later... going in vacations, yes !
