Default Do you Hate KDE Windows Opening Centered on the Desktop?
Maybe it is Just me personally but with PCBSD I find it undesirable for each window to open up Dead Center on my Desktop. Some may love it.
Of course you can right click the title bar of the offending window and
Advanced> Special Windows Settings> Geometry[Tab] check Placement and Force - Smart.
..but you would have to do this with each window/app and then it would remember.
So to simplify things for those who choose they can

... edit a configuration file, this section explains the options in the kwmrc file, located in ˜/.kde/share/config. Your Home Directory

Change
Code:
Placement=Center
to
Code:
Placement=Smart
and Save
Restart your KDE desktop Logout and Login.

This option determines how kwm places windows on the desktop when they are first opened.
Now the windows won't pile up on the Center of the Desktop and a New Window won't try to cover up the last opened window.
I hope this helps.

Sure like http://xmonad.org/
..but as KDE is the PCBSD Desktop it just makes good sense to me to work with what we have and doesn't add to the processes overhead. Tastes vary though vi vim emacs Komodo so much to choose from these days.

I personally hate that stupid "Desktop Folder" shadowed and stuck in the middle of my desktop. Its like a desktop inside a desktop. KDE 3.x look was fine with me.
What? you're hardware can't handle the new Xorg/KDE ? well then buy more and better hardware, everybody UPGRADE ! Yes, I'm Bill Gates, I approve of WINDUX and I approve of this advertisement.

....welcome to the new PC Xorg/KDE/Gnome...

sreiously thanks for the tips though.
