Default Can't mount the CD-ROM
Installed pc-bsd on vmware. Trying to mount the IDE CD-ROM, but there's an error:

mount_cd9660: /dev/acd0: Input/putput error

Please, help.

If any of these sound like stupid questions to you, please follow the link at the bottom of my sigblock to understand why.

0/ is VMWare configured to allow access to your host machines optical disk drive?

1/ What command was used to mount it

2/ Was the disk in the right drive

3/ Is the disk having a suitable ISO-9690 file system on it

4/ Was there a CD-ROM in the IDE CD-ROM drive.

5/ How is the drive hooked up to the IDE channel

6/ Does the BIOS detect it on boot?

Well, I don't find these questions stupid. The CD-ROM is up and running. I tried to mount different discs, but it doesn't seem working. And no, I don't have any different CD drive in my PC.

There's Auto detect CD-ROM option in vmware settings.

http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO885 ... aming.html

According to that manual, IDE CD-ROM is called /dev/acd0. I inserted FreeBSD CD into the CD drive by occasion. It was mounted automatically with the command

mount -t cd9660 /dev/cd0 /mnt

OMG, I got no SCSI device in my PC! Pathetic!
