PC-BSD on OS X: VMWare Tools - PC-BSD Forums

I have got the latest PC-BSD running on my Mac Pro via VMWare Fusion. VMWare provides a set of 'tools' to install that allow interoperability between the virtual OS (PC-BSD) and the host OS (MAC OS X).

There's one slight hiccup however, the VMWare Tools are in a freeBSD source file, not compiled for PC-BSD. (see screenshot below)

My question is, how do I go about compiling freeBSD source code for use on PC-BSD?

Any help/advice/step-by-step would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

source for freebsd == compiles on freebsd && pc-bsd == freebsd 6.3R

I've heard VMWare is more or less useless on FreeBSD itself for virtualization, for suporting apps I wouldn't know.

I figured it out after some trial and error. I did get the vmware tools to install without any errors however, it didn't really affect anything positive or negative that I can tell. No real interoperability between the host computer and the guest computer.

Not a big deal really, as it's great that I canplay with PC-BSD nonetheless!
