Regarding Chinese input:
After both base-l10N and KDE-l10N are installed and 'Force IBUS input' is also enabled (boxes checked in their respective system manager locations), it seems that further effort is required in PC-BSD v9.0
to fully enable this-
If the edit to the .xinitrc file can be verified as a requirement to enable Chinese input (ie, somehow this is actually missed by the automation in v9.0) then I can add it to an errata note for the appropriate page.
Can it also be verified whether similar action is required for v9.1 to enable Chinese Input?
- create a file ~/.xinitrc ;
- add two lines (export XMODIFIERS='@im=ibus' and export GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus
This should be something that is already covered within a settings panel somewhere, but if it is not or the function is broken, then it needs to be fixed or documented as a needed step in the handbook for v9.1.
Thanks for all your time folks!
