Default Sony Vaio VGC-JS1E Desktop Video
Hello,

I am installing PC-BSD (latest stable release) on a Sony Vaio VGC-JS1E desktop alongside Windows 7 in a dual boot configuration.

On startup after installing the system, the size of the screen is limited to 1024x768 instead of the 1680x1050 needed to fill the screen. It is impossible to change the resolution. There are large areas of the screen to the right and on the bottom that are not accessible and are greyed out.

Is the Intel G45/G43 Graphics Accelerator X4500 HD card supported by PC-BSD 9?

I am completely lost - being a newbie - and wonder if I am doing something wrong. In Windows 7 the resolution is 'normal' and fills the screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

When the display wizard ran, did you select your resolution, or pick
"Keep default?" If you reboot, and run option 6 at the boot splash
screen, and re-run the display wizard, can you manually specify that
resolution, and does it work?

Default Thanks for the reply
The machine that PC-BSD was installed on crashed. Instead, I have a live copy which I can try your suggestion on. Do I need to reinstall the system before trying your suggestion or will I get the same/similar results from the live copy?
