While I'm fine with the developers and the community decision, I have to say this is not the best name for me (but I cannot come up with a great one). We are going to have
- PCBSD Isotope
- PCBSD TrueOS
The first problem I see is that the two names are totally unrelated and, what is more important, the true
of the server edition makes the standard
edition sounds like fake
. Moreover, the TrueOS
name does not leave much space for themeing and stuff like that (see for example here
), and is not a name that is going to be changed in the long term, at least this is my opinion. On the contrary, Isotope
Anyway, the code is much more important that the name, because on the name we can discuss forever, but on the code we have all to agree!
