Default Cannot format or delete external drive contents
My USB pendrive still contains files for installing PC-BSD. I wish to use the pendrive for something else now, but I can't delete the files or format the pendrive using the GUI. There's no way a newbie would know how to format or delete the contents of an external device using the command line - and there's a risk of formatting the wrong device!

See screenshot (I know it's not clear, but it's supposed to show the contents of the USB device; the option to "Move to Wastebasket" is greyed-out).

You will need to use a 3rd party GUI or utility for now. We don't have a
disk-manager GUI developed yet, but plan on one for 9.2.

Otherwise "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/da0 bs=1m" usually works. Just be
sure "da0" is your USB drive
