Laptop Not shutting Down

Hi all,
I have HP Compaq laptop(3424TU)model and I have installed PCBSD 9.0 on it, everything is working fine except that it is not shutting down automatically i.e., the last message it displays is Uptime 2h34m or so and the screen goes blank. The laptop is not shutdown, and I have to press the button and hold it to shut it down. I am a newbie to PCBSD, and i am thankful for any sort of help.

I cannot find your laptop in the compatibility list here. It should be a problem with the ACPI. This thread could give some hint.
