Details on the installer scripts?
Hello, I was trying to figure out some details about the installer so I could learn more about how PC-BSD is set up / configured initially. I have the 9.1-Beta DVD and was poking around...it looks like the install starts with /etc/pc-bsd-rc.sh, then for live cds it calls /etc/SetupLive.sh, and for installs it calls /etc/SetupInstall.sh. SetupInstall loads memory, some kernel modules, checks for /boot/pc-autoinstall.conf and copies if it exists...but then I got confused because the script just ends there. Am I correct so far? What happens next?
I didn't find any details in the Forums that seemed up to date, but if I missed it please point me there. I checked the wiki and was reading the "Advanced Installation" topics...are those pages still valid? Based on the "Creating an Automated Installation with pc-sysinstall" page I was kind of expecting to find /boot/pc-autoinstall.conf on the dvd but it's not there.
After reading the "Installation Troubleshooting" page I also checked my system for /tmp/pc-sysinstall.log hoping that it was created even there were no errors, but I didn't find that either.
Any information is appreciated. Just trying to build my knowledge of BSD and PC-BSD so I can say goodbye to the chaos of Linux... :)
Thanks,
Sean
