RAID or Native IDE ?
The first time I tried to install PC-BSD (9.0), the DVD didn't even boot.
To solve this issue, I had to change an option in the BIOS setup of my computer (an Acer Aspire desktop) : in the "Integrated peripherals", I replaced "RAID" with "Native IDE". A third option, "AHCI" was also available but nothing worked when I tried it.
With "Native IDE" selected, I was able to boot and install PC-BSD and, then, to use it. But Windows didn't boot anymore. I had to switch back to "RAID" for Windows to work, so I couldn't use PC-BSD.
I recently tried again with PC-BSD 9.1 beta but faced the exact same problem. Is there a way to tweak the kernel so that it boots when RAID is selected in the BIOS ?
