Default TeXLive pbi using portshaker
Is there anyway that I can use portshaker to create a pbi, particularly TeXLive? This is not in the FreeBSD ports tree, and almost guaranteed that this won't happen in the near future (for the reason see my other post), so I decide to try create the pbi with portshaker myself.

Is this doable?

Using the pbi_* command line tools[1] simply use the local version of your ports tree to create a PBI. So if you use portshaker to edit/change what is in the ports tree on your system (or point the PBI build to your custom ports tree instead) you should be able to just use the standard "pbi_makeport" or "pbi_create" commands to produce a PBI.
If you want something that is a bit easier, EasyPBI can run pbi_makeport for you instead (or at least generate the command for you) as well as create PBI modules and such for your modified ports/program as long you are using the local /usr/ports/ directory for the modified ports tree.

Hope this helps!

@semin

Is there news regarding this project? What is the current status of your efforts? I am just getting to know PC-BSD and would like to help out if I can.

Best Regards,
Michael Bach

Unfortunately due to my own real work and health condition I have not been able to work on PCBSD matters for the last few months. Life has been always frustrating here...

Sam

I'm seriously considering to switch from Archlinux to PCBSD very soon, but having TeXLive is something I was taking for granted.

Anyone else interested to work on it?
