Default UTF-8 character problem in /etc/rc.conf
hi all --
i had a bizarre occurrence this evening - shut down the laptop at work, came home & on booting ran into a strange problem. something altered my rc.conf file (not me, i promise) to the following:

119 ifconfig_wlan0="WPA"
120 ifconfig_p<94>˙˙˙^?="`ifconfig em0 ether`"
121 ifconfig_p<94>˙˙˙^?="ether ${ifconfig_p<94>˙˙˙^?##*ether }"
122 wlans_p<94>˙˙˙^?="wlan0"

i'm dual-booting with the 20120605 snapshot & was able to edit the primary rc.conf back to a normal state, but does anyone have any idea how this might have occurred?

thanks!
(ps will attach photos shortly)

Odd, Did you enable the "lagg" support in the network manager GUI?
