Unhappy Preparing desktop (X): ntpd_initres[...
I installed PCBSD 9.0 on my ASUS G51Vx (Core2 2000, 4GBDDR2, 260GTX) with Gnome and nVidia turned on & KDE turned off in installation options (It took about 10 hours!!!). Installation finished and system restarted.
VGA setting came up and I chose 1366x768 24Bit nVidia and applied. Resolution changed and it asked my to confirm the res. When I hit YES, it started flashing between the verbose and the blue screen (background).
I restarted the machine, and it flashes between the verbose and nVidia screen as I attached a video and an image of the error:
[date] ntpd_initres[2274]: host name not found: x.freebsd.pool.ntp.org

It's now 5 days that I'm trying to install PCBSD :-<
Don't let to bury the dream with myself.

The nptd issue is unrelated, that usually just means there is no
internet connection.

As for video, it may be a problem with the older nvidia driver. Can you
grab test a newer snapshot? We should be posting one to blog.pcbsd.org
in the next couple days.

Dear Kris
Several times I tried to install it and just failed... I explained my setup experience here and didn't success. It was nearly a week I had no OS and my system was trying to install PC-BSD. In all tries (if it would install) I got the same screen and nothing more but the explained.
So I've put it aside for a while and surfing Backtrack.

Actually I'm unable to grab a new one.
Sorry

And the nVidia... I think the problem was something concerned to it. But first I thought It is the Gnome problem. So I installed KDE alone... and unfortunately that happened again.

Best Regards
