Default Desktop manager problems
Hello,

I'm new to BSD and to this forum, so hi everybody...

I have installed PCBSD 9 on a Dell Latitude laptop yesterday. I managed to install XFCE desktop manager and then some other software and everything seemed to work well for a while. Then I needed to reboot, and since then I cannot login to XFCE desktop. I write my password, the screen goes black for a second and then it goes back to the login page. That happens every time I try to login to this desktop.

I installed GNOME and LXDE too, but I don't even get them as options during the login.

I can login to and work in KDE desktop without any problems, but I really do not want to work in KDE because it's too slow.

Does anyone have any idea on how to get XFCE working again?

Thanks

I would try deleting your .xfce folder in you home directory. It could be in ~/.config

I'm not sure why GNOME and LXDE aren't available. How did you install them?
