Default [Rhythmbox] Compiled from ports doesn't enable status icon [SOLVED]
Silly little status applet plugin doesn't seem to work when compiled from ports. running rhythmbox from a terminal and then trying to enable the status icon yields the following on the screen:

(rhythmbox:64256): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: /usr/local/lib/rhythmbox/plugins/status-icon/libstatus-icon.so: Undefined symbol "notify_notification_attach_to_status_icon"

(rhythmbox:64256): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: Could not load plugin status-icon

And thus ends my skill in this matter. :-)

I couldn't find anything. I'm having the same problem with Rhythmbox from packages. Maybe this needs to be brought to the attention of whoever maintains the port?

It's just the status icon plugin on my machine. The others are fine.

I did a bit of digging and found that libnotify changed up a bit at v0.7.0 and requires a bit more massaging to work. I've submitted a patch that works (allthough probably isn't quite right).

I just released the latest Rhythmbox PBI (0.12.8_6) so it should match the latest version from ports. It should be available in the AppCafe within the next 24 hours.
Let me know if it works for you now.
