Chrome Locks System
System:
Intel Penium D 1.8 Ghz processor
Nvidia 8400GT graphics adapter
1 GB RAm
PC-BSD 9.0 - LXDE
Problem:
Sometimes when loading a page using Chrome, the whole system locks up; no mouse or keyboard. When this happens, I have to reboot the system. I can't find anything in any log that shows a problem. I have tested the RAM and the hard drive and found no problems. This seems to happen when a webpage doesn't want to load. It's not Flash; I have it disabled.
Query:
What could cause this kind of behavior? Where can I look? What should I test next?
Notes:
I have not tried Firefox to rule out Chrome issues. I will do that tomorrow when I get back to work. I have not done a CPU burn-in test.

Well, no lockups so far. Man, I hate intermittent problems.

Ok, I've discovered what's causing the lockups: Xorg. Every once in awhile, Xorg will peg 95% to 100% CPU and lock the system for a few to many seconds.
I'll have to search around and see what the deal is.

Ok, it must be a Nvidia driver issue:
nvLock: client timed out, taking the lock
nvLock: client timed out, taking the lock
nvLock: client timed out, taking the lock
nvLock: client timed out, taking the lock
nvLock: client timed out, taking the lock

Ok, with nvidia-settings I set to high performance, turned of vblank, flipping, anisotropic and anti-aliasing. Don't know if that will help.
Testing.

Well, that made Xorg calm down, but I still get random, short lockups while surfing the web. I have no idea what the problem is.

Ok, Chrome seems to run better with Flash enabled. Maybe it's an HTML5 issue?
Computers are weird.
