I updated from pc-bsd 9 beta 2, and believe I applied the sytem updated bug fixes patch first as prescribed in the "PC-BSD BETA 3 Available" blog post.
1. XFCE and KDE desktops seem to consistently open new windows in upper left corner with window title off-screen (so it cannot be moved, sized, etc.). Gnome is OK, and I did not test LXDE.
2. Firefox does not run in KDE or Gnome (did not test XFCE or LXDE). I had v6 in beta 2 (which worked OK), noticed v7 was available during beta 2 to beta 3 upgrade, and updated to v7 immediately after upgrade to beta 3. Attempting to run from the command line (Gnome desktop) results in:
|
Code:
|
Gtk-message: Failed to load module "canbetta-gtk-module"
Gtk-message: Failed to load module "gnomesegvhandler"
Illegal instruction |
4. I agree with
http://forums.pcbsd.org/showthread.php?t=15150 that the meta-pkg manager seems to be gone from the PC-BSD Control Center.
I'll probably download the beta 3 ISO and try installing from scratch.
I'm running on a T61 ThinkPad, but haven't tried any suspend/resume functions yet (will try after loading beta 3 from scratch).
Keep up the great work!
