Default (fixed-almost:) Please help me with this - plugin trauma
Before you begin PLEASE open a "konsole" session - this is so you can type "xkill" and murder any window that crashes by clicking on it with the skull and crossbones mouse cursor (be CAREFULL).

I'm working on a midi plugin and player for PC-BSD - the player and web plugin are cool - but I have another trauma : )

Embedded WAV files in web pages! Jesus - I know mozplugger plugin is SUPPOSED to support wave files embedded in web pages IF you have XMMS installed - BUT .... I'm being griefed by it. It seems that the kaffeine, xine - you NAME it - web plugin want's to handle ANY type of audio plugin EXCEPT .wav - one of them claims .wav support, but I only get crashes or controls that appear on a page that do not work! : (

Is it only me or has the mime type audio/wav and audio/x-wav been lost to history?

I would REALLY appreciate people prepared to do the following tests and report back - they are only described for konqueror, but testing in ANY browser would be appreciated.

If they DO work (or if you are patient "don't work") could you report back the plugins you have installed? In firefox you type "about:plugins" into the address bar, and in konqueror you click "Settings -> Configure Konqueror" and click on the bottom left bottom part of the window where it says "Plugins", and then select the "Plugins" tab on the right. Konqi will report the names of the plugins it has found.

Thank you SO much to anyone that takes the time to do this.

Open KONQUEROR

Step One: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corrido ... eegirl.htm

Two plugins at the bottom of the page:
1.1) One says "Mr BUZZY sound" This is an annoying repeating .wav sound of a bee. Does it play? I just get a set of media controls that do NOT work.
1.2) The other says "Flight of the Bumble Bee" - this is an embedded midi and I expect it not to play (I'm making a plugin for that atm - if you have UMP or mozplugger installed it "may" work if you already have timidity++ (not the OLD timidity pkg) installed - I'm working an an independant timidity and web midi plugin PBI atm)

At the bottom of this page there is a picture on the right of a woman standing in front of an ancient computer - click it.

This should open chttp://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corrid ... mputer.htm in the browser. It is important you click on the picture, and following the above link can cause stability : )

I see three media controllers to the right of the flashing computer screen:
2.1) The "K" throbber keeps turning and I can not interact or shut this page with the mouse. I have to launch "xkill" in a konsole window and click on this page to kill konqueror. I get NO sound from these controllers. ONE of them should be playing a weird sound effect and the rest can be turned on and off. This is NOT working for me.
2.2) At the bottom of this page there is another controller - this is for a midi file and I expect it NOT to play.

Any version of firefox reacts randomly and eventually segfaults and crashes when I do the above and keep navigating the "gerbil hole" links.

Please forgive the content - it was my 1st ever web page WAY back - and I forgot the password years ago, so it is "frozen in time". Still works 100% in IE though. Firefox on windows wants Quicktime for the wav stuff and I would RATHER DIE than install that shite. (I use quicktime alternative)

Thank you again.
