Default Connecting to Windows Remote Desktop
Goal: How to connect to your Windows XP Professional systems Desktop over the network from PC-BSD.

On the Windows system go to the Control Panel and bring up the system window. Go to the remote tab and check to allow people to connect to this desktop. Set up the users you want to allow this for but Admin accounts always can. They need to have a passworded account.. It will handle windows firewall but you probably will need to setup your FW yourself if use another. Ok swap over to your PC-BSD system

Install rdesktop, there is currently a PBI of it on http://www.pbidir.com (this is what I did). You can also install it via ports ports or packages. Feature request soon to be posted on forums here to add it to the installation too.

Run the "krdc" Program from a run dialog or open the K-Menu and go to Internet-> Krdc Remode Desktop Connection.

Type in the address bar rdp://Windows_IP:3389 and hit enter. For this the example will be shown

rdp://192.168.128.147:3389

It will ask a few questions such as screen size, color depth, connection type e.t.c. You should get a thing asking for username and password and a window containing your Windows XP Pro desktop!

Alternitivly after installing rdesktop if liking the defaults you could do this from konsole and get the same thing

rdesktop 192.168.1.128
