Default CMOS clock not UTC?.
Why does PC-BSD use/set the CMOS clock as the wall clock by default? I perfer to have my CMOS clock set to UTC and have the system do the necessary offset. Is there a good reason why PC-BSD has chosen to go this route?

I guess I believe that the cmos clock should be UTC and each machine make the changes by itself as needed. Thats my preference as it just seems to make sence to me...

Thanks

I've never understood why all BIOSes are not set to UTC/GMT and let the end user figure out his time zone.

I often need to deal with people in diffrent time zones and countries, when I set a date I give it thus:

1900 Hours GMT, July 25th 2006 don't be late.

For UK people I remind them they are offically (according to my UK contacts) GMT+1. I use GMT, as more people seem to "just get it" then when I say UTC 8-)
