Default pkd_add doesn't work...
On new installed PC-BSD 9.1 pkg_add doesn't work:
Code:
[ishayahu@pcbsd-8463] /usr/home/ishayahu# pkg_add -r py27-wxPython-unicode
Error: Unable to get ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-9.1-release/Latest/py27-wxPython-unicode.tbz: File unavailable (e.g., file not found, no access)
pkg_add: unable to fetch 'ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/amd64/packages-9.1-release/Latest/py27-wxPython-unicode.tbz' by URL

Default same here for 9.1 RELEASE
pkg_add doesnt work, neither on base nor in jails !
as i browsed the forum and didnt come at a solution, i have two options,
one in jail using the make install clean command
2nd build the pbi using the easypbi...

i found 2nd option better as i know upgrades wont affect theapps we installed !
i ve installed xcompmgr (composite manager for box styles), lxappearance to change the widget styles, wbar to use as a light wt dock. all these 3 are not found in appcafe...

you can use 3rd solution:
pkg_add -r ftp_path_to_pkg
just replace in
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/po...on-unicode.tbz
packages-9.1-release to packages-9-stable

yes... thank you for pointing me...
do i presume right that PBI is preferred to pkg_add ? thats why i went with the easypbi... a really cool tool !

I'm not sure that you can use pbi in any case that you can use pkg_add, for example as I understand, you can't install with pbi wxPython (GUI library for python)

Pkg_add does not work because as far as I know, FreeBSD binary repositories are currently empty due to that security breach what happened last year. So it is not bug in PC-BSD, and situation may be corrected once they start compiling binary packages again, and have new architecture for their distribution.

Yes, I can see that repositories are empty, but due to that PC-BSD is OS for users, not for 'admins', I think that that's a bug...

Nope, it is not a bug, PC-BSD uses FreeBSD's package infrastructure, on other than PBI packages, so right address to complaints is FreeBSD guys, not PC-BSD maintainers.
