Default Installing VirtualBox Guest Additions in PCBSD9
Hi

Running PCBSD9 (64BitCD) as VM in Virtual Box on Debian Squeeze(64Bit) host

Ran updates

Installed GNOME

Installed VirtualBox Guest Additions via Control Panel ➜ System Manager ➜ System Components ➜ Misc. as suggested here:

http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/Usin...uest_Additions

Rebooted and during POST it says "Found VirtualBox Guest Additions" with no sign of any errors.

Yet PCBSD still running with no visible sign of mouse pointer integration, shared folders between the host and guest, better video support, or a shared clipboard.

Also tried installing via cli but repports error relating to "No Linux / Solaris" found.

Is there something more I need to do?

Thanks

Answer was right there in the wiki

"To use the improved video support, select vboxvideo in Control Panel ➜ Display. "

Default Manual editing necessary
For me this only worked with manually editing xorg.conf.

The assistant did nothing, I then accomplished 1600x900 on a 1920x1200 Display:

(I found a couple of similar threads, it's a pity auto-resisize will not (yet) work.)

Code:
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Card0"
Monitor "SyncMaster"
DefaultDepth 24
[...]
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes	"1600x900" "1024x768"
EndSubSection
and then

Code:
Section "Monitor"
	Identifier	"SyncMaster"
	HorizSync	30 - 100
	VertRefresh	50.0 - 75.0
	Option "DPMS"
EndSection
