Kooka

New to PC-BSD & K desktop. Install went fine but Kooka did not install. Would not be so bad, but no SANE frontend or back end seems to be installed either so I cant scan from Oo or Scribus or any other program for that matter. I've tried to install Kooka from a tarball but cant seem to get Kpackage to install it.

Is there any help for a bonehead like me?
