Install PC-BSD from USB

I am new to bsd. What is the best way to install pcbsd frrom a 32GB USB stick? I am installing it to a ZaReason Terra A20 2GB RAM 160GB HDD. I have tried using Unebootin with errors. Keep saying the the file is corrupt. I have downloaded from torrents from pcbsd website. What torrent should I suppose to use. I am using Lubuntu 10.04 Beta. I want to use bsd instead of linux.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hey there, first download usb image: ftp://mirrors.isc.org/pub/pcbsd/8.0/....0-x86-USB.img

Then follow these instructions:

Writing the ISO to Flash media

To write the USB IMG file to a Flash Card or USB pen drive you can do this with the Unix/Linux command 'dd':

dd if=<path_to/img_file.img> of=/dev/da0 bs=1m

Just substitute da0 with the device name of your USB stick.

NOTE: The USB images are FreeBSD-UFS formatted, and will not show up as a viewable file-system under Windows.
You can find that, and other handy resources here: http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/PC-BSD_Users_Handbook

Thank you very much on helping me with this. I will need some more help later on after I get this downloaded. I will let you know when I have it downloaded and installed on the usb. I am not verry good at the CLI commands. I will try my best.

P.S. Do you mind me adding you as one of my contacts here on these forums?
Also can you give me the link to the same file but for the torrent as I prefer using torrent links?

I tried installing this on a usb stick but it keeps saying that the file could not be found. I am on a macbook 5,1. I would like help installing this on a usb from the mac. I have burned a cd of the file on my mac but I need help as to what to do. Should I boot the cd and install it on the usb from the cd after boot up?

you cannot put data on a burned cd onto a usb-stick
the command "dd" stands for disk dump which means that raw data is written onto the usb-stick. data on a burned cd is officious not raw data

the command if(=input file)=/path.to.iso of(=output file)=/dev(=device)/(=usb-stick name) bs(=blocksize=1m(=megabyte)

Since Mac OS X is UNIX-based this command is already installed and can be used on a CLI (= Commandline Interface)
