Dear Ralph, I am new to PC-BSD migrating from windows. I saw your post on how to compile custom kernel (I also would desperately love to improve the slow boot and shutdown times. My Laptop is Compaq Presario F700). It would be great if you can guide me on the possible doubts that I have. Please bear with me in case my doubts are extremely stupid, because I have no previous experience in coding. But I would like to learn that is y PC-BSD is excitng for me.
1)In your post you have asked to create a supfile. Is it a file name or file type? If file name then what is the file type?
2)Should the file be created in something like notepad?
