Hi Guys, Newbie to Pc-Bsd. Very impressed with it. Just converted from Linux so didn't have any probs with installation other than the above subject. I have a 40 gig Seagate ata external, two partitions. however, only the first partition is showing on the Desktop.I have searched the Drive Database but can find no reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are both slices primary. or a primary and an extended?
What filesystem is each partition?

I have mounted in the past usb hdds with mixed ntfs, fat32 and ufs2 primary slices and all have been recognized by the automount scripts since pcbsd 1.3.

You did not specify what filesystem is being used by the unread partition.
BSD doesn't always play nicely with extended partitions, so if the second partition is a non-primary partition it could be the cause of your issue.

Hi Guys, MTFYR. Both partitions are Fat32. I have gone into the drive and wiped the first partition , then converted the second to Boot and now the unseen Partition is now on the Desktop. Again Many thanks.
