nvidia geforce 4 compiz won't work

When I enable compiz-fusion I get black screen and I can see only taskbar. There's an compiz icon in system tray so I suppose it works, but computer completely freezes :-(
Can resolution be the problem? I use 1024x768@85hz, but my monitor can do better.

Okay I had the same problem and fortunately the same card I suppose(its nVidia Geforce 4 MX 4000 :P ). Try on with the nvidia 9xxx driver and don't forget to turn on the advanced options from the second tab in Graphics Card & Monitor setup wizard or else you'll end up with a 640x480 resolution :shock: . It solved the compiz problem for me and enbled the 3D Accelerator too !! 8)

But hey there's a problem,compiz pratically need few seconds to load,in my pc it takes bout 3 to 8 seconds and yes the screen blacks out leavin the taskbar visible. Wait till it loads completely and then you can use it.
