Hello. I fairly new to linux and I have been using PCLinuxOS 2007 and Ububtu for about a month. I read the review of PcBSD 1.4 on distrowatch watch so I desidded to give it a try. The problem I having right now is that PCBSD is not detecting my on-board Via VT6122 Gigabit Ethernet Controller which I have no problems with any other distro I tried. As matter of fact I'm in PCLinuxos right now. I tried doing some searches and haven't found any answers yet. Can anyone offer any help? Thanks

Well after doing more searching I tried the following and still no device found.
Added if_vge_load="YES" to /boot/loader.conf
Tried in Konsole as root PCBSD# /stand/sysinstall as per FAQ 1002. Recieved invalded command error.
edit: /stand/sysinstall is no longer valid. use usr/sbin/sysinstall. However manuel configuring still failed to pickup my controller.

Well I install PCBSD in PCLinuxOS 2007 using Vmware and I have no problems with getting on line or sharing files with my server. The only thing I can now think of is maybe PCBSD doesn't like being on the partition its currently on. I guess I'll try installing one of my spare drives and installing PCBSD on that and see what happens later in the week.

Well still no joy even on a different drive. Doesn't anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
