I just installed PCBSD onto an IBM thinkpad T20.
Typing a key that is also a number, results in the number being displayed.
Disabling numlock, also disables those keys.

What am I missing/ installed incorrectly, etc

TIA

I have a Thinkpad T43 and the same thing happened to me. Fresh install of PC-BSD 0.7.8 and after login into KDE the numbers would type in place of certian letters. Turn Num Lock off and they changed to arrow keys.

For some reason after hitting ALT + CTRL + F1 then ALT + CTRL + F9 it works. Further finding is that hitting caps lock turns on caps lock and num lock thus causing the issue. Going to look into it some more. If anyone else has input please let me know. Also there is not an issue when in console mode.

I found that as well on my Thinkpad A30p. I found the setting to fix it located in the Control Center, Peripherals, keyboard. It defaults to NumLock on KDE Startup "Turn on". Just change it to "Turn off", and restart "X" and it works fine.
