Hi there I have an Acer 2403 Laptop with 1.5 GHZ Celeron M processor, 512 MB Ram and 40 gb hdd, with 14 inch Wide Screen. I have some queries with regard to this.

1. How to get Suspend to RAM and suspend to disk (hibernate) working

2. How to enable CPU Frequency scaling

3. I need a resolution of 1280 * 800, right now i only get 1024 * 768

4. I need to get my WiFi cards working BroadCom BCM4318 and Linksys WUSB54g V4 - external USB WiFi adaptor

5. Blue Tooth.

On Simply mepis everything worked out of the box :). But i am switching over to BSD as I like this OS more than Linux.

Please advise

Regards

1. How to get Suspend to RAM and suspend to disk (hibernate) working

Suspend to RAM and hibernat don't work in FreeBSD right now.

2. How to enable CPU Frequency scaling
Search "cpufreq" in forums.

3. I need a resolution of 1280 * 800, right now i only get 1024 * 768

Edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config file and add resolution you want.

4. I need to get my WiFi cards working BroadCom BCM4318 and Linksys WUSB54g V4 - external USB WiFi adaptor
Look at "dmesg" message after you plug card in and post here.

5. Blue Tooth.

Bluetoot should work in FreeBSD by default- no gui tools so far.

6. How can I tell PC-BSD 1.3.4 to power down when I shut my laptop? Is this possible?

This is on a Dell Latitude D600

Thanks for the link. I added:

hw.acpi.lid_switch_state=S5

to /etc/sysctl.conf and now when I close the lid, it does a power down.
