Do we have a smb printer option at BSD? i want to connect to a windows shared printer.

You can try setting it up in the CUPS interface @ localhost:631 in your browser or the KDE interface in KMenu -> Settings -> Control Center -> Peripherals -> Printer

unable to retrieve the printer list. error message received from manager.

Connection to cups server failed. check that the cups server is correctly installed and running. error: local host read failed (14).

You might try http://127.0.0.1:631 and see if that works.
