cable modem on USB

I have Motorola SurfBoard cable modem on USB and don't know how to connect to Internet.

I read some other topics on this forum and tried to edit ppp.conf but it didn't help. I'm even not sure which device in fact represents the modem. If I run ifconfig I get two candidates: fwi0 and lo0. In sysinstall / Networking I see flip0 and plip0 (both 'unrecognised network interfaces').

Can someone help me?

Well, yes, but I prefer USB.
