OK I have a Geforce3 Ti 200 and this is starting to suck. I read on some list that the new 97xx drivers will not support it. So I down loaded the older Nvidia Driver 8762. This driver hard reboots my computer half way threw the install. Does this driver work? If not it really should be removed from the PBI list. I was under the impression that Nvidia didn't cut off the older cards till the 97XX drivers.

If I'm really going to need the legacy drivers did they stop the support before the 97xx drivers?

Is the 1.0-7184 newer then the 87xx drivers?

I see on there page that the nForce drivers are open source. Why can't they do that with the Geforce drivers???

If I do need the 1.0-7184 driver is there a PBI for is some place that I'm not finding??

Thanks in advance

Faust

I was under the same impression (that anything earlier than 8s would work). Does the legacy driver ever install...have you checked kldstat after reboot to see if nvidia.ko is loaded?

Nope no nvidia.ko

Maybe I messed something up when I installed the 97xx drivers. Im sure its fixable but I really can't figure it out. I'm going to go with a clean install and see if the 8762 driver will work after that.

Yep I must have messed something up with 9 drivers because on a clean install 8762 worked!
