Hi folks,

I recently started work on a network configuration GUI for PCBSD. It's coming along at the moment, but I've reached the stage where it would be useful to me to have some decent icons for it so I can finalise the UI.

However, turns out I really suck at anything approaching drawing. I'm pretty handy at using the 'rectangle' tool but that's about the extent of my artistic prowess.

I can grab a few from existing icon sets I've been able to find, but some seem to be rather lacking. This is where you, the budding icon artist comes in. :D

So.. if anyone fancies trying their hand at icon artistry, or feels like helping me out I'd be much obliged if you could let me know in this thread. If there's an interest I'll outline what I'm looking for here for you.

Cheers!

Did you hear that Kamels? The man needs icons! Could be a nice little testerer outerer for some of your visual concepts.

Wouldn't it JUST be heaven to get some icons MADE! I'm quite sick of shovelling through the internet trying to find 'em.

You can use any icons made by this (http://mazenl77.deviantart.com/) artist.

Well, I don't know that I could do those 'glassy' looking icons that you find spattered about KDE, but I'd be happy to give it a shot... even if they're just place holder icons until you can get some proper good ones :)

Or I suppose you could use the icons on the Deviant Art site, yeah... they're very glassy :o

I really like the Noia Warm icon set at KDE-Look. Best I've seen in a long time even though they are a little old - great artistic work though.

I belive the glassy look is ok for icons.

For the rest we should go the other way around, non shiny textures...

The icons, buttons would naturally come out as they should and no eyestrain on the users.

Kde already has too much glass where it isn't needed.

Cheers!

Ok, thanks for the responses guys.

I'm looking for five icons really:

- One to represent a wireless connection
- One to represent a wired connection
- A nice tick (for enabled)
- A nice cross (for disabled)
- Finally, an icon for the program itself. It's a network configuration program in case you've forgotten.

Ideally I'd like icons in the order of 64x64, I prefer 'em that size since then I can use 'em large or shrink them if needed.

Thanks in advance, :)
