I have America's Army 2.5 installed on PCBSD 1.3 Beta 2. Requirements to run the game are all installed. But it won't run. When executed in CLI I got this error:
$ cd /usr/local/bin
$ armyops
./armyops-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
But the file is there.
I never had this error in previous PCBSD version. I could play the game then.

I'm still getting this error on 1.3RC1.

Is libX11.so.6 located on your system?
# /etc/periodic/weekly/310.locate (this updates the locate database)
# locate libX11.so.6
Since this is a Linux game I presume that the file you need is somewhere in the linux-compat libraries. If not, then you probably need to upgrade the linux-compat layer.

Is it expecting to find that lib in a certain place and we have it somewhere else?

I'm currently playing America's Army with PC-BSD 1.2 and RH8.8 linux abi layer with great satisfaction.
The problem is your linux abi layer (Fedora core ) that don't let any game running :( :( .
Anyway I'll be really glad to meet you on America's Army if you will have success to play.
My AA Nick is -=USF=-SSgt.PC-BSD ;) ... and yes I'm playing in Ubuntu special Force team since no AA PC-BSD team is available :D :D
Yes I don't play so much (lack of time) but when play I'me a good player (this seems to be ;) :D ).

By the look of things, FC5 will be the new compat layer within weeks. Perhaps that will be better but I can't say.

I've got it running on PCBSD 1.3. It works with Fedora Compat. It should because the port says AA requires linux_basefc4. Now I have Flash and AA.

I've got America's Army running on 1.3.2 and also Enemy Territory (Wolfenstein) runs fine too. The only problem I have with AA is that it will only load to 800x600. Maybe there is a CL switch that will allow it to use a larger resolution. With ET I can change it nearly whatever I want.

I got America's Army into 1024x768 but I had to edit out all 800:600 references in the ~/.armyops250/System/ArmyOps.ini file and replace them with 1024:768 numbers. There were 6 or 8 pairs of them to change but it sure looks a lot better.
