DVIX and Widnows Media Video......

Does anybody know of a DVIX codec and Windows Media Video player for *nix and or PCBSD? or something like what is found here:

There is a windows media codecs package for download. As for DivX, download the Mplayer package it will play everything you want.

I downloaded Mplayer. I tried to play an avi, dvix encoded avi and a wmv.

All three times I received the error message: error opening/initializing the selected video_out device

As for the wma files neither Mpalyer or the default audio player seemed to support files with the wma extension.

This is on a pcbsd install in a VM machine. I will try it later at on a physical computer with a fx 5900 ultra with the latest pbi nvidia drivers, although I seem to remember trying it before and receiving the same errors or the multimedia app just crashed.
