when I make :
make clean && make
I got the message
"make: don't know how to make clean. Stop"

It is faster than cvsup or csup.
In PC-BSD 1.2, there is a button to populate your ports tree. It is found in the PC-BSD System dialog, under the "Tasks" tab. I've not been able to get 1.3 to install, so I can't tell if it is still there.
