I downloaded the new PC-BSD 1.3 ISO and tried to burn it on my PC-BSD machine. I had hoped that for once things would "just work", but, alas, no such luck.

I put the blank CD into my cd recorder, and type:

burncd -f /dev/acd0 data PCBSD-1.3-x86-BETA1.iso fixate

Things spin for a bit and then I get:

next writeable LBA 0
writing from file PCBSD-1.3-x86-BETA1.iso size 641064 KB

Input/output error

fixating CD, please wait..

And nothing happens. I tried doing it as root via sudo, still no joy. And my /var/log/messages file is filled to overflowing with:

Oct 20 08:51:01 PCBSD kernel: (cd0:ata1:0:0:0): READ TOC/PMA/ATIP {MMC Proposed}. CDB: 43 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 0

What am I doing wrong? My CD recorder is a Lite-On 48x DVD/CD recorder.
