Can not display X

Hey everyone. I have an Averatec 5110H and it has an i855GM video chipset. It is not working properly. The error message that I get upon startup is:

X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly
IO Error in XOpenDisplay
Display :0 cannot be opened
Unable to fire up local display :0; disabling

Does anyone have any idea?
