I have firefox 1.5.0.1 PBI, my update manager tells me nothing about 1.5.0.6 which is in pbidir nowadays (actually 2 days ago, I see 1.5.0.7 today :D :D)

Does update manager of PC-BSD version 1.2 work ?

It's an issue with the PBI updater, not KDE. :)

and I've never seen an update notif and Ive been messing since 1.11

Most of the Firefox/Thunderbird and infact most frick'n pbi I've seen don't use the pbi update feature.


IHMO it is a must for programs that are reguarlly maintiained like Firefox and Thunderbird.

Yes who ever makes the PBI must set it up when they package it with PBI Creator. There was a how to on the forum some where, but where ever it is no one uses it. I'm pretty sure most people would agree there is not enough documentation on the PBI system, including internals.

Interesting perhaps to axe it ?
look at release map for pc-bsd, it counts with it, so I think some of developers should look at it or kick this "feature" at all from pc-bsd.

I figured it was something for 'future' expansion... when PC-BSD becomes a more mature product, then the idea of updating PBI would become a higher (and more glamorous) propostition, rather than the 'also ran' it is currently against KDE tooling...
