I can't get any of the pbi files I make in the NEW package builder version to execute on pc bsd 0.7, even if I mark them as executable. I can't even install the new package builder on PC-BSD 0.7.

I have no worries with the latest package builder on PC-BSD 0.75 ot the packages it makes.

Is it me or "just the way things are Billy"?

No, you are correct. The package creator for 0.7.5 makes packages that require PC-BSD 0.7.5 and higher. I don't anticipate the formating changing at all between now and 1.0, so you should be safe making .pbi's with the new builder :)
