I noticed that the new "Icy Steel" is "-p2"
What is the difference between:
6.1-RELEASE-p2
and
6.1-RELEASE
Is p2 newer or older?
My normal FreeBSD 6.1 says it is: 6.1-RELEASE
and PCBSD says it is: 6.1-RELEASE-p2
Sorry for the n00b question...

p2 is Patch Number 2 in FreeBSD release cycle.. This is much newer than RELEASE and got more bugs fixed.

This reminds me I need to update my only FreeBSD machine, it's been 6.1-Release since p2 came out.
*sighs* when a day gets to be 36hours long I'll have more time to enjoy 4 computers.

Ok, so it is a bit off topic (PCBSD Topic), but how does one upgrade from 6.1 TO 6.1-p2?
The ISO images at FreeBSD.org still install regular 6.1
How do you start a new system with 6.1-p3 right away?
I have several new machines to install clean at this point.
Also will PCBSD be upgrading tp 6.1-p3 if it is out?

You can't install a new system with 6.1-p3. You must install 6.1 and when you update kernel you will have 6.1-p3 version.

6.1-p3 is out already and I made kernel update for PC-BSD. Read more here. (http://forums.pcbsd.org/viewtopic.php?t=4609&highlight=)
