As far as i know for now, nope you cant update 0.6 to 0.7, You need to install it entirely

Valio is correct. There is not an upgrade option between .6 and .7. When version .8 is released there is supposed to be an upgrade option.

Seems that it has changed to 0.9
here is the updated list:
Version 0.8
- Add custom partitioning to the PC-BSD installer.
- Add support for multiple languages / locale.
- Update package creator for advanced functionality, such as creating documentation links.
- Bugfixes from 0.7.
Version 0.9 and beyond
- Develop an update manager which can be used to update the system to the latest release without reinstall.
- Creation of QT based control-panel, which lets users configure things such as printers, network cards, sound, etc.
- TBA

Could be that iso file is corrupt or bad burning.
Have you tested to download it again and burn?

hi valio,
confirm it was indeed the CD-rom drive problem.. i've tried to run it on a separate laptop and it loads up juz fine.. guess i had to source a new cd-rom drive for my laptop... anyway thanks man :)
