There is already a faq on the main web site. However, especially as PCBSD is oriented towards newcomers, perhaps a howto section might be helpful. I think it would be best if, as much as possible, we have one source for information rather than two, or three if there's a wiki. It gets to the point where one might first search the forums, then the faq, then the wiki and it becomes a bit of a nuisance.

For instance, I've answered the apt-get question two or three times. I should add a faq entry, but then I have to get around to that, decide the category, etc etc and just don't have the time. However, if we had a howto/faq section--perhaps steal bsdnexus' RTFM idea for its name--I could just click post new topic and do so. :)

Lazily yours,

Charles

I think we should use the FAQ section more than we do
It's great because we have a whole knowledge database, and it is searchable, we have all we need at one single place
There is still the "Welcome to PC-BSD" thread for newcomers :P
