Hi,
I have been using PCBSD on my old P2 laptop since v1.0 and been upgrading using PBIs.

Now I wanted to try out to watch some video and found that I'll need to install the Essential Codecs PBI. I downloaded and tried to install, but it refuses, because it tells me I have the wrong version of PCBSD.

Is this the right PBI to use for this version of PCBSD?

TIA,
Mikael

Yes, the Essential Codecs work in the latest versions of PC-BSD (1.2+)

Ok. Something strange must have happened. I tried to install this package right after upgrading to v1.11 and then it didn't work. I tried again now because I wanted to write down the exact error message, and now it installed flawlessly.

But... Kaffeine doesn't seem to find the codecs. Is there a way to make Kaffeine rescan for codecs the way it does first time it starts?

Tia, Mikael

Kaffeine says it doesn't see the codecs, but it actually does :)
Try reading a DVD or a WMV file...
