Download Isolated Updates

Scenario: I plan to install PC-BSD for my sister (not-a-techie) what with all the Windows licenscing. She uses dial-up.

Question: Can i download updates separately for this machine? If so, how would i know what packages are installed on her machine?

It would ideal if i can somehow extract some 'update' file from her computer, or better yet, she can extract this file herself. Then using this 'update' file, i can download the necessary updates that are packaged neatly, cut this onto a CD and then mail her this CD.

I do not kow the answer to you question, but if you are going ot mail them and bandwith speed is not an issue why not send all the updates?

Bandwidth is not a problem for me, but it is for her as she is using dial-up.

When i say mail her the CD, its through regular post aka snail mail.

DL updates as PBI's, put them on data cds and mail!
